Welcome To:

The James William Peabody Foundation

It is our goal at The James William Peabody Foundation to help the Children’s Hospital Of Orange County ( CHOC ).CHOC is in constant need of crucial funds to help the thousands of children and their families they care for each year. In remembrance of our son James, we have chosen CHOC as the recipient of the foundation. It is very important to us that James be remembered, as well as help children who are struggling to hold onto life. CHOC also played a huge role in saving the life of our dear friends’ son, Andy.

ABOUT JAMES WILLIAM ...

James William Peabody is the first born to Dave and Beth Peabody. He is also Jacob William’s identical twin brother. The boys were born on October 22nd, 2000. James lived for a precious eleven minutes and then became our beautiful angel. James died from a birth defect known as Anencephaly. This is a neural tube defect that occurs in the first 4-5 weeks of a pregnancy. With Anencephaly the brain and skull are unable to fully develop and the baby is completely incapable of life outside the womb. This defect occurs at a devastating rate of 1/1000 births. While many of these babies are stillborn, we are so thankful that our son took the breath of life, and Dave was able to hold our precious James William before saying good-bye.

Although there is known cause for Anencephaly ,  the medical field highly recommends that women take supplemental folic acid three months before becoming pregnant, as well as, during the pregnancy. This will greatly reduce the chances for neural tube birth defects, but even with that, there is still a 2-3% chance of it occurring.

James William is our hero in ways no one will ever understand. Beth believes he is the strongest person she has ever known. Dave has been unbelievably proud to have James as his son. We know that Jacob will forever know and love his brother, his other half.
Dave started the James William Peabody Foundation to honor our son. Together, we have chosen to use our son’s life and memory to help others. James will be forever loved and missed. We hope that while you join us in raising money for CHOC, you will take a moment to remember our son, hug your own children and think of all of the children who are struggling with battles of their own.

Andy Enroth

Andy represents thousands of children in Southern California that are helped by Children’s Hospital of Orange County on a daily basis. Andy was born, on February 27, 1999, four months premature and weighing only 1 pound 4 ounces. The “Big Fella”, as we call him, since his birth, has experienced several medical struggles. These struggles include major visual impairment, feeding problems, seizures, asthma, mild cerebral palsy, and countless surgeries to try and correct these problems. Through it all, Doug and Lori Enroth, Andy’s Mom & Dad, have been fortunate enough to turn to CHOC for Andy’s unique medical needs.

Andy is now nine years old and while his struggles are not over, he is a happy and loving child. Andy amazes us all with his huge accomplishments which include learning to walk, talk, sing and listen to music. So many of these accomplishments have been made possible with the help of CHOC. Through the countless difficult times, Doug and Lori have often commented on their appreciation for CHOC.

We are so proud of Andy and his family, and we feel honored to include Andy in all of the events of the Foundation. We are certain that Andy’s life is full of meaning and he has touched all of those that know and love him.
